The iExperience

Hi there,

I’m on a market for a new phone. I’ve owned for the past two years a Motorola Milestone and don’t get me wrong, the Moto is still functioning with the same confidence it did when I first bought it. It’s just a little out of date and because it’s a an old Android phone, you don’t get to update it with the latest versions of Android, funny I’m running Android 2.1 and I don’t even get to update it to 2.2,yes sad but true.

So I have decided to be a decent person and buy a new phone, But how to decide which one, there are just so many of them? Yes there may be lots of them out there on the market, but how many actually are able to make you raise an eyebrow ?Well after spending hours on the Internet reading review after review ,i have narrowed it down to three – the iPhone, the Motorola Droid Razr and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. They are all fast and they all cost a small fortune, they have the same 8mpx camera with Full HD video recording ,or, wait just one moment. I completely forgot, the  Nexus has a 5mpx camera, pity isn’t it, and that concludes the similarity between them.

So I went to the local store to have a look at the three finalists and take the winner home. But I already had my mind set up against the Galaxy Nexus and don’t get me wrong it’s not because it was the most expensive one, nor because the 5mpx camera wannabe on the back, or the unnecessarily oversized screen (4.65inched monster of a screen) which is absolutely gorgeous to look at, but hard to work with one hand because of its size. No these are all obscure disadvantages. The major problem with the Nexus is its battery life. Use it like any other phone available on the market and you will have to charge it twice a day, at best. But here is the best part. If you are in a car, using the 4G to navigate, you will be expected to use a charger , trying to satisfy its insatiable thirst, but you will fail. After just 4 hours the battery will dry out and all you will have on your dashboard is a rubbish piece of Gorilla glass with the Samsung logo on it. But at least you will be able to drive into the unknown,  unlike someone, for example, who is driving an electric automobile. The poor deluded fool will stuck in the middle of nowhere, because the Nexus would have dried out not only  its own battery, but also the cars’ . So that leaves me only two choices now, the iPhone “almighty” and the new Moto Droid Razr.

We all know that the iPhone has been in a class of its own for quite some time now. The iPhone is everything other phones are not and everything other phones desire to become one day .It is nothing short of amazing. But there is just one little problem with it. Almost everyone I know owns one and that is exactly what bothers me. See I have never really liked the idea of running with the pack. Maybe that Is the reason why I bought Motorola two years ago .And the iPhone has a 3.5 inch display and my old Moto has a 3.7 inch display. What about the new Droid Rzr. It has a 4.3 inch screen, surely some folks will riot against it, it’s too big to be comfortably handle with one hand only! No it isn’t , unless you are missing a finger or two and the reason for it is that the Moto is only 7mm thin. Yes 7mm , it is so slim that you can actually shave with it ,or  use it to sharpen your kids wooden swords, and it is tough, I mean “Chuck Norris” tough. The reason for Razr’s toughness is Kevlar, do you remember that incredible material, bulletproof vests are made of, the same material, that is FIVE times stronger than steel. Plus the phone is sealed (the battery is irremovable) ,so this makes the Motorola Droid Razr as bulletproof as your fridge. It truly is a magnificent phone and I’m sure It will like a little spectacle in my hand, BUT…Ohh there is always a “but”. See , people are curious by nature, and I’m no exception. I’m as curious as is a 8 week old lion, venturing its surrounding habitat and I’m especially curious about the so called “ iExperience “ . Yes, the iExperience of the iPhone and iOS, the promised land of technology.

So I have made my mind, I will go for the iOS, I will keep my trusty old Moto Droid and buy the dangerously handsome Mac Air which is nothing short of amazing. The only problem is, I just might have sell my parents into slavery, to be able to afford one!
